This is the first in a series of two-part “Open Letters” addressed to individual and institutional partners in dialogue seeking fruitful responses to the catastrophic pollution of our media ecology.
The first part of these letters — above the paywall — is an invitation to join me in ‘Rumi's Garden’, the post-corporate and post-ideological track of Dialogue as a Service (DaaS). Behind the paywall, subscribers will find a welcome message.
Invitation
In Rumi's words:
Somewhere beyond right and wrong, there is a garden. I'll meet you there.
Only there, can we build a tabernacle to shield us in the wilderness of the kleptocratic attention economy. You'll need directions to the Garden, but there’s no way to enter this address into Google Maps.
Before I reveal the secret gateway, let's make sure this is the right time for you to head to this destination. In my mind, the question isn't whether the Garden is the right place for you — because it's the right place for every human being — the question is whether this is the right moment in your life to visit the Garden.
To help you decide, here's my wish-list sketch of my ideal subscribers — i.e., people seeking fruitful responses to the catastrophic pollution of our media ecology. They include:
Corporate communicators and PR agency principals inverting the amoral ethic of their discipline's founding fathers.
Advertising-free media (e.g., Substack) and asynchronous voice-first collaboration platforms (e.g., Otter.ai).
Corporate governance experts pushing the agenda beyond ESG.
Doctors and mental health practitioners developing and applying healthful alternatives the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
People and organizations developing post-ideological responses to the epistemic crisis.
If you recognize yourself in these sketches, this may be the right time for you to subscribe to DaaS. This hypothesis is further validated if you recognize the value of the following subscriber benefits.
Subscriber Benefits
Research-based responses to your problem statements.
A post-corporate perspective informed by a deep study of relevant sources.
Unlimited access to DaaS podcasts and posts tailored to your interests.
For subscribers within easy walking distance, I offer the option of in-person DaaS. We can call it IP-DaaS or DaaS-IRL. Regardless of the name, it includes the “Walk with Me” option. In fact, WwM is my preferred service medium.
Through this Substack, I offer two tiers of service, both through yearly subscriptions to Rumi's Garden — either at $1,000 or $2,000. I think of these subscription fees as an alternative to traditional retainers. They create an economic foundation for my work.
To receive directions to the secret gateway, email me at daas@substack.com and tell me what brings you here. You'll receive my response/proposal within a week. If you accept my proposal, return to this page to subscribe at the proposed tier of service.
